Our goal
To empower and equip women to become major contributors and drivers of the advancement of their families and communities.
Intro
Despite rising evidence of the positive impact of women’s economic empowerment, women are still faced with limited access to education and skills development, as well as barriers to securing quality jobs and opportunities to thrive as entrepreneurs.
With the goal of better addressing these challenges, TRHI implements an effective skills acquisition and women empowerment program in Ogun state that is supporting the education and empowerment of women in various communities.
The need
Ogun state is limited in resources for women’s education and development. Many of the women and young girls in the state are uneducated and vulnerable and mostly do unpaid household work.
Our response
TRHI understands that women’s empowerment is critical to ending the cycle of poverty. We strongly believe that women’s empowerment is integral to community development and the long-term success of any country’s economy.
Through our skills acquisition and women’s empowerment program, we equip women with the training and resources they need to learn new skills and improve existing ones, allowing them to confidently find employment that will allow them to provide for their families. Women who are well-equipped and empowered often make better judgements and choices for themselves and their families.
TRHI started an entrepreneurial program in Ogun state to enhance the livelihoods of women in the state, in accordance with the United Nations SDG Goal 5 aimed at “achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls” through better opportunities for women and young girls.
